The Move

We are finally settling in at our new house. What a couple of weeks it has been! Dave had been sick for about a week before the day of our move. The morning of the move, he woke up with a temperature of 104! He was so miserable and when he went to pick up the Uhaul, he threw up. The movers weren't coming until around 2 pm so my mom and I decided to take the girls out and let Dave take a nap. My mom bought the girls a new shower curtain and bath rug for their bathroom and she bought Dave and I new bed sheets. She definitely loves to spoil us! We got home and Dave was still sleeping so I had to try and finish the last touches of packing. The movers did an awesome job and Dave somehow found the strength to stand around and show them what needed to go. My mom worked on cleaning the carpets and vacuuming while I continued boxing things up. The movers finished loading the truck in a little under 2 hours and Dave took them over to the new place to unpack while my mom and I finished everything at the old house. Dave called around 6 pm and said the movers were done and they had finished 20 minutes early of what we had hired them for. My mom, the girls and I headed over to the new place with dinner. I had started coughing earlier that morning but I kept telling myslelf it was all in my head. Unfortunately I woke up that night with a fever, chills, and aches. We had decided to store Ally's crib and put her in a big girl bed the night we moved. She did really well with it and hasn't tried to get out at all since then. Sunday morning I woke up feeling terrible and Dave was still burining up. I insisted he go to the doctor so my mom watched the girls while I took him to an urgent care. When we got back, my mom had started unpacking the kitchen. My mom was supposed to leave on Sunday, but she decided to stay another night and help unpack a little. I don't know what I would have done without her. She unpacked the entire kitchen and moved boxes into the right rooms. Emily and Ally had woken up with fevers on Sunday as well so I scheduled them doctors appointments on Monday. Ally had an ear infection and they couldn't determine what Emily had so they said we had to wait it out. Wednesday she still had a fever and I called them back and they said she probably had a virus that was going around and to call back Friday if she still had a fever. I was feeling terrible all week so I scheduled myself an appointment on Thursday and Dave decided he needed to go back to the doctor as well. We both got strong antibiotics and Dave got some steroids to boost his immune system. Friday Emily woke up with a fever of 103 so I called the doctor and told me to bring her back in. Ally had been doing better since getting on an antibiotic but she was cutting two molars so she has been extra cranky. At the doctor's office, the doctor heard crackling in Emily's lungs and thought she might have pnumonia. She sent us to get x-rays and put Emily on a heavy-duty antibiotic. The x-rays turned out clean and Emily didn't have pnumonia, praise God. By Saturday, we were all starting to feel better. Emily woke up Sunday with a temperature of only 99! We decided to go to church since we hadn't been in 3 weeks. We also got the majority of our unpacking done that weekend. The girls and I were able to go to school this past week and Dave worked the entire week. Today we are all healthy and happy. We feel like we are getting settled and nobody has had a fever all week. We love our new place and we feel like it is super close to everything! The girls and I are on Spring break this week and on Monday we are headed to San Antonio for a couple of days. I wish Dave could come because he needs a vacation after the last two weeks, but he missed alot of work being sick. I will try and get pictures of our new house up soon.
