Pumpkin Carving

Monday night we did our annual pumpkin carving! This year Emily chose Ariel and Dave, being the awesome dad that he is, had no problem carving Ariel into the pumpkin. Enjoy!

Dentist, Dewberry Farm, and Doctor's visit

Last Friday the girls had dentist appointments. It was Ally's first time to see a dentist and I wasn't sure how she was going to react. Emily did awesome. She let the dentist chip away at a bunch of tarter and she let them take X-rays without any problems. I was so proud of her! Ally on the other hand wouldn't even step on the scale to get weighed. The dentist had a really hands-off approach when it comes to younger kids. She didn't want to pressure Ally into doing anything that would scar her for life. She did have me hold Ally down to make sure she didn't have any cavities and to try and get some of the iron build-up off of her teeth. Both girls are cavity free!!
Saturday we set out to Dewberry Farm. The girls had a great time doing all of the different events including a corn maze, hayride, pumpkin patch, corn train, rope swings, and more. Here are some of the highlights of the day.

Emily got to feed some goats.

Today I had another doctors visit. I had to take the glucose test to test for gestational diabetes. I am not sure when I will find out the results but if it comes back with anything negative, I will have to go back for a three hour test. I haven't had any problems with gestational diabetes with my other pregnancy, so I am hoping for a good outcome! Also I have gotten 3 migraines in the last week and all of my migraines start out with extremely blurry vision. I told my doctor about it and she recommended I see a neurologist. It just so happens there is one right down the hallway from my doctor so I went and scheduled an appointment for next Monday. I have been getting migraines since I was a freshman in high school but usually I only get 1-3 a year, if any. When I am pregnant I seem to get them more frequently though. Yesterdays marked my fourth one in the last 5 months. I am not sure what the neurologist will be able to do right now with me being pregnant, but I hoping they may be able to narrow down what triggers them for me.

What a week!

So they excitement of the week started out on Tuesday at school. Ally threw the biggest tantrum I have ever experienced in front of all of my co-teachers and friends. She had been woken up during nap time and never got back to sleep which is why she was so cranky. When her teacher brought her to me at the end of the day, her fit started immediately. She went off on Emily who was only trying to see her artwork. Then she began throwing papers and her backpack and lunchbox. I was working hard at keeping her quiet and trying to clean up my room and get out to the car. The other teachers kept coming by trying to see what was going on and I was trying to assure them I had it under control, which I clearly didn't. I tried carrying Ally with all of my school stuff, her backpack, lunch, and artwork, but I just couldn't get it all. I asked Ally to hold her art and she threw it to the floor. I told her if she wasn't going to help me I couldn't hold her so she sat down and threw another fit. By now I am almost in tears, totally humiliated from everyone watching us and I pick up as much as I can, giving some extra stuff to Emily to hold, and drag Ally out to the car kicking and screaming. As soon as I get outside I burst into tears. If I had been able to think clearly while all of this was going on, I would have dropped everything, taken Ally out to the car, loaded her up, and then come back for all of our things. Of course that never crossed my mind as Ally is kicking and screaming in the hallways and classrooms in the school!
The next exciting event of the week happened Wednesday night. I had been cleaning the house all day in preparation of my mom, sister Jennifer, and niece Taylor coming on Thursday. After we put the girls to bed, we hear Emily moaning and groaning saying her stomach hurts. She tries going to the bathroom a couple of times and nothing happens. We put her back to bed and a short while later we hear her throwing up. She is now on the top-bunk bed and throwing up down the side of her bed. So gross!! It takes me about 30 minutes to get everything cleaned up, Emily dressed in new pj's and back in bed. 20 minutes later, I hear her again. I had given her a bowl to throw up in, but she missed and once again I had to change all of her sheets and pj's. She ends up throwing up four more times that night with 2 more bed changes and one more set of pj's. Dave finally put an air mattress on the floor in our room and we tried to get some sleep. I am still not sure what Emily had, but she was really sluggish and didn't eat for the next two days.
Thursday afternoon, my mom had come to town to go with me to the JBF sale. I was hoping to get winter clothes for Emily and Ally, a few long sleeve outfits for the new baby, a car seat/stroller combo for the new baby, crib bumpers for the new baby, and some winter maternity clothes for myself. I got some clothes for the girls, my mom brought a ton of new clothes for them, so I didn't need to buy a whole lot. I got the new baby a couple of things, and I got a couple of winter maternity clothes. The sale was a good size, but I wish it had been bigger. I didn't find a car seat or stroller which were the major things we needed. My mom and I went to a couple of resale shops on Friday and I was able to find a few more clothes for the girls but no strollers or car seats. I decided to search craigslist and found exactly what I was looking for. I emailed the people and it was still available so yesterday we went and picked up our new car seat and stroller. I wanted something really lightweight this time, not the big bulky strollers that usually come in the sets. Here is the stroller and here is the car seat we got.
I am glad it is Sunday and the start of a new week!

25 Weeks

I can't believe 25 weeks have gone by! Not that they flew by because this summer was definitely extremely hard and went really slow, but I only have 14 weeks until we meet our baby girl! My doctor said that if I am showing signs of going into labor at 38-39 weeks, they will schedule an induction because of how fast Ally's labor was. I would really like to go into labor on my own, but it would be nice to be able to plan having my mom here and Dave getting off of work. I am thankful to have school and the upcoming holidays to distract me from waiting until January!

Proof she is growing!
