Latest News

We seem to have misplaced our camera during the move and we can't find it! That is the reason for the lack of pictures. Sorry guys! I have been taking a lot of pictures on my iphone but I can't figure out how to upload them to the computer and loading pics on facebook takes a long time. There are a few boxes in the garage that we have not unpacked so I am hoping the camera will show up in one of those. If not, I guess you will just have to come visit us to see the kids!! We are beginning to feel settled in the new house. I unpacked the last of the boxes in the house this morning. It feels so good to have that done!
Life with Chloe in the family is great! We went to church for the first time with her on Sunday. It went well, but I spent the entire sermon in the nursery nursing her. Fortunately I could listen to the message on an intercom. Emily and Ally were really excited to get out of the house and be around their friends.
I was supposed to take the girls up to the school today to visit with their classes and teachers, but Dave's car is having some issues and he had to take mine. Hopefully we will get up there soon.
Thursday Chloe has her cardiologist appointment. I am not sure what they will be doing but hopefully we can get our questions about her condition answered.

Moving Nightmare!!!

I do not ever ever ever want to move again! They are going to have to bury me in this house! Ok, so we are just renting and will eventually have to move out, but I do not even want to think about that for a couple of years. This has by far been the worst move we have ever had. It seems like just when we think everything is going smoothly, something else goes wrong. Here is what happened-
Friday my mom came back to help us with the move. We had been promised the keys to the new house all week, and we did not get them until the last minute on Friday. Friday night we had not gotten a call to confirm the Uhaul, so Dave called them first thing Saturday morning. They were not going to have the Uhaul ready by the time we requested, thanks for the call guys! Dave called the movers to let them know we needed them a couple of hours later than we requested. We all headed over to the new house to see what we could get done before the movers came. We had scheduled the gas (heat, hot water, stove) to be set up on Friday so Dave went to turn on the heat. After about an hour of trying to get the house warm, we figured out the gas had not been turned on. Dave called the gas company and they said they couldn't come until Monday. Lame! We decided to use a couple of space heaters and still go through with staying at the new house. Dave went to pick up the Uhaul and meet the movers. When he got to the Uhaul place, they did not have the size truck we reserved and gave us a much smaller truck. Dave went back to the old house to wait for the movers and they didn't arrive until 5:30 pm, the original meet time was 1pm. More lame! Dave had already filled the truck and so they came to the new house to unload the first load. My mom, the girls and I had been at the new house all day trying to stay out of the way. We were freezing! We also learned that the new house had no water pressure and that the master bathroom shower faucet doesn't work. Sunday we had to go back to old house to clean and check out with the landlord. We decided to all take showers at the old house since we didn't know when we would get hot water at the new place. When the landlord came by, he told us we would not get our deposit back since we were leaving a month early. Kinda lame, but at least he let us go a month early. Sunday night Dave tried to move boxes around so we could unpack while he was gone (he went out of town on Monday and comes back today). Monday the water guy came and gave us water pressure. The gas guy came late Monday and hooked up the gas but he couldn't figure out how to get the heater started. After a moment of panic, my mom messed around with it and got it started. Monday afternoon we realized that under the kitchen sink there was a major leak. Tuesday didn't bring any new excitement but this morning I woke up thinking it was raining because I heard water hitting the ground outside my window. I couldn't figure out why the hot water heater seemed to be running for no reason and when I looked out the window I realized it wasn't raining. I went out into the backyard and found a huge amount of water pouring out of the side of the house. The backyard was flooding. I called the landlord and he immediately sent a plumber who is now working on all of the problems. Hopefully we don't find any new quirks with the new house. Dave comes home today and I can't wait. Did I mention I am never moving again!
