Finish the Statements. . .
Maybe I should be playing with Emily.
I love the smell of charcoal grilling.
People would say that I am tall.
I don’t understand why .
When I wake up in the morning I lay in bed as long as I can.
I lost my willpower to clean everyday.
If there's a dessert in the room I'm eating it.
Life is short.
My past made me the woman I am today.
I get annoyed when people smoke around my kids.
Parties are not a good time to hide out.
Dogs are scary, according to Emily.
Cats are fun to torture, according to Dave.
Tomorrow is the day we go to the beach!!
I have low tolerance for whining.
I’m totally terrified of cockroaches.
I always knew I would . . .get married and have kids.
Never in my life have I smoked cigarettes.
High school was a lot of fun. I had an awesome best friend, I played volleyball and basketball and even won the state championship in basketball my senior year!
When I’m nervous I sweat a lot.
Take my advice, never drink soda and try and run.
Making my bed never happens, unless we have company.
I'm almost always trying to entertain my kids.
I’m addicted to coffee!
I want someone to watch my kids so that my husband and I can go out on a date.

Memorial Day
Another busy week has zipped by. Ally turned 9 months old on Tuesday. She had her check-up appointment on the 20th and everything turned out great. She weighs 18 pounds and she is now 28 1/2 inches long. I told the doctor about her rash again and he took a look and said she had a yeast infection. I cannot believe that both Emily and her have yeast infections! He told me some different things to try and they seem to be working. The doctor also said that when Ally turns one, I can switch her from formula to milk. I cannot believe how fast she is growing. It will be nice not to have to buy formula every week at the store.
Friday was my 25th birthday. Dave woke up early and brought me breakfast and flowers. He decided to give me spending money as a gift and I was able to get a couple of much needed things. Dave made a special trip home for lunch to be with me and then he let me chose were to eat dinner. Without hesitation I chose Olive Garden. Jeff and Dorcas Weir came in late Friday evening and we had some ice cream cake to finish out the day. It was a great birthday. Jeff and Dorcas bought me a rose bush and a couple more things of flowers to plant. As soon as we are able to plant them, I will post pictures. We haven't been able to plant them yet because of a fire ant issue. Dave is taking care of it though.
Saturday we went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science were we visited the Butterfly exhibit. It was beautiful seeing all of the different types of butterflies and having them fly inches from our faces. Emily spilled all of her milk onto her lap during lunch, so Jeff and Dorcas bought her a lady bug shirt at the Museum to cover her short-less legs.
Sunday we went to the 59 Diner in Tomball. It is a fun place to eat breakfast because it looks like an old fashioned diner. The food is awesome as well. After breakfast, we went to the Houston Garden Center to pick out the rose bush. It was really neat to see all of the different types of flowers you can plant. When we got home, Jeff and Dorcas packed up and headed back to Dallas.
Today we woke up to Emily throwing up. Dave and I are still not sure why she did because she was fine the rest of the day. She felt a little warm, but she didn't have a fever. She acted a little sluggish, but for the most part, she was fine. Dave let me go out shopping for a couple of hours by myself. I enjoyed the quiet time of not having to put anyone in and out of car seats and strollers.

Where to begin?
This week has been a very busy week. It started out with my mom and sister Jennifer visiting Monday-Wednesday. They flew into Hobby airport which is near downtown Houston, not really close to our house. I was really nervous about driving to the airport without Dave to pick them up, but it wasn't too bad. The highway does all sort of crazy things in the downtown area, and the traffic is kind of messy, but I was able to pick them up successfully. I made Dave go with me to drop them back off. Their visit was a lot of fun and it was cool to see my oldest sister Jennifer pregnant. I was sad to see them go.
Ally has started to pull herself up onto furniture and people. I am amazed at how quickly she is growing and how fast she is zipping through milestones. Here is Emily encouraging her to stand up.

Emily is picking up potty training very well. She still has accidents when I don't remind her to go on her potty, but she is peeing and pooping on the potty! We are flying through our jar of M&Ms and I feel like I should be giving her grapes or something more healthy than chocolate, but she loves picking out what color M&M she is going to get when she goes on her potty. Here she is being crazy.
Ally is advancing in her eating. She can suck on graham crackers and bread now, and I have started leaving her food more chunky. She is not a picky eater at all. Thank goodness at least one of my girls likes the food I give her!
Dave went to Georgetown, Tx on Friday to observe their inventory. He stayed the night so Emily, Ally and I had a girls night. We didn't really do anything spectacular and I ended up trying to get the girls in bed early before they drove my crazy.
For the last year, I have been trying to read the Harry Potter series and last night I finally finished! I have spent the last 2 weeks staying up way too late reading the last 2 books. I really enjoyed the series and I am sad that I am finished. At least I have the movies to look forward to!
(By the way, if anyone has read all of the books, I would love to ask a couple of questions I had at the end. Thanks!)
Today we decided to visit the Houston Zoo. It was a beautiful day, not too hot. We had a really great time being outdoors and seeing all of the animals. Emily couldn't really decide what her favorites were but Ally couldn't get enough of the pigeons running around.
And last but not least, Ally is crawling the normal way now! She has learned that the normal crawl is a lot less exhausting than the army crawl.

Happy Mother's Day
I just wanted to say Happy Mother's Day to my mom, my mother-in-law, Katherine, Amy, and any other awesome moms out there that I don't know read my blog. I hope you all have had a wonderful day and have been able to relax and be spoiled for a day!
Bath Time!
Ever since Emily and Ally have been able to get baths together, bath time has taken on a whole new meaning. By the end of bath time, the bathroom is usually soaked with water. Emily and Ally play the game of who can empty the bathtub the fastest. I really look forward to bath time because no matter how cranky the girls are before their baths, once they hear the water running, they get super excited. If Ally is playing in the living room and she hears the water running, she crawls as quickly as she can into the bathroom. Emily will usually respond in running circles around us when we tell her it is bath time. Unfortunately bath time usually only happens every other night because even though it is a lot of fun, it is a ton of work. Only one person can sit next to the tub at once to scrub the girls clean and they are so squirmy that it is a really hard task to get them clean. Here are a few pictures of the fun times in the bath, and I promise they are taken in good taste.

101
I can't believe it but I have blogged over 100 times! I never would have thought I would make it this far. Thanks to everyone for your faithful reading and encouragement which keeps me motivated to blog. Here is to another 100 posts!
Funny Girl
Ally is playing contently on the floor with a toy. Emily walks up and grabs it from her.
Me: Emily, don't be selfish. Give that back.
Emily: I not a shellfish mommy!
Emily is pretending to bring me food that I "order" from her. When I am finished with my pretend mac and cheese, I ask her for a caramel macchiato (my favorite drink from Starbucks).
Emily's response: Upside down?
(Now because I am explaining this it might not be as funny to you but I always order my macchiato upside down which is when they put the caramel on the bottom so that it mixes up when they make it instead of the caramel all being at the top of the drink.)
Nothing gets by Emily!

Big Girl!
Ally sat up on her own tonight! It was way exciting! She is still doing the army crawl instead of the normal crawl, but she has been trying to climb up onto furniture a lot lately. I think she wants to be able to keep up with Emily.
Little squirmers
When Ally was born, Dave and I thought for sure she would be a cuddly and quiet baby, the opposite of Emily. But as Ally has grown and started showing her personality, she is proving to be just as wild and crazy as Emily. Note the picture:
We love our wild and crazy girls.
If you notice in the background of the picture, David Archuleta from American Idol is performing! Dave and I are rooting for the Davids!

Our little star
Emily is amazing Dave and I everyday with the knowledge she is obtaining. She is truly a sponge. Her favorite thing right now is singing and she is really good at remembering the lyrics and tunes to the songs we teach her. Here is Emily singing her most requested song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
