Back to School

Today was our first day back at school from Christmas break. The girls and I have had the last two weeks off and it was a fun, relaxing much needed time off. Dave had off from Christmas day until yesterday and we loved being able to spend an entire week together with absolutely no agenda. We got back from Dallas last Monday and decided not to try and plan anything for New Years. Every time Dave has taken a vacation day this past year, we have been traveling somewhere. It was so nice to be at home and be together. I got spoiled having him home and I was dreading him going back to work yesterday, but my mom came into town Sunday evening, so her being here helped to ease life returning back to normal. My mom left this morning to head back to San Antonio at the same time we headed to school. I had mixed emotions about going back to work. I knew the kids were going to be emotional starting out the day. It wasn't as bad as I had thought, but some kids did have trouble saying goodbye to mom. The girls teachers said they did well and Emily's teacher even told me that Emily was one of a very few kids who knew all of her letters today. Hooray flash cards!
