Funny story
Back when Emily was about 6 months old, Dave and I went to Goodwill one day. Back then, Dave and I wouldn't always take Em's diaper bag with us if we knew we weren't going to be gone for long. We have much since learned our lesson with this. Em had just been fed before we arrived at Goodwill. Emily was just learning to sit up by herself and we weren't putting her in a shopping cart yet so Dave just carried her. As we were walking around, Emily started to spit-up. Since we didn't have the diaper bag, we didn't have any sort of rag with us. Dave just kept moving around the store. Em kept leaving little puddles of spit-up were ever Dave went. We got so embarrassed, we just left the store and went home. I was reminded of this memory the other day. I sat Ally down in the living room so that I could do some dishes in the kitchen. I came back a few minutes later and Ally had rolled all around the living room. I could tell she had rolled around because all over the carpet, there were little puddles of spit-up. Ah, sweet memories!

No fun pictures
For some reason my blog is not letting me upload pictures today. I have some fun ones from over the weekend. It has been another crazy, busy, non-relaxing weekend. I have been trying to potty train Emily for the last two weeks and she did not do a single thing in the potty! I have been so frustrated! I tried being mean, being really sweet, singing songs while she sits on the potty, reading to her, making up stories about going potty, bribing her, and any other things I could think of. Nothing was working. Emily could not understand what we wanted from her so she was content to sit on her potty and do nothing. Then Friday morning, Emily finally pooped in her potty! It was truly and amazing moment. I was on the phone with my sister and Emily came running out of the closet (let me explain the whole closet thing- Em usually runs and hides in the closet or in her room when she has to poop. We had tried putting her potty in the bathroom, in her room, in the living room, but nothing seemed to work. Dave had the idea to put it in the closet she usually runs into to hide and it worked) screaming "I did it!" She kept screaming over and over again and I went over to take a look and sure enough, she did it! We did a great big potty dance, Em got some M&Ms and we called Dave at work to tell him. We had been promising Em is she pooped in the potty we would go to the park so she kept asking for the park. We decided to wait until Dave came home to go to the playground in the mall (or as Emily calls it, the mall park). Em was super excited that she finally figured out how to poop in the potty. She keeps screaming "I did it!" and she ran up to Ally and screamed for her. It was a fun time. I caught her trying to poop later that afternoon and I think she forgot she was supposed to tell me so she could go on the potty. I caught her half way through pooping and she finished on her potty! When Dave came home, we took Em out to a very expensive dinner of chicken nuggets at Wendy's and then we went to the mall park. This morning, Em pooped for the third time on her potty! I think it is starting to stick about what she is supposed to do, but only time will tell. It is nice to see results after 2 weeks of frustration.
I finished my web-based training courses this weekend at Home Depot. I was scheduled to work 8-5 Saturday and Sunday and I was told by my HR manager that I could go home if I finished early. On Sunday morning, I finished around 10 am and was going to clock out to go home. A women was in the break room and she was asking me if I was new and what position I was going to do and I got to talking with her and I told her I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do after I finished the training. I wasn't on the schedule yet and I was just going to call the HR manager Monday morning to ask when I should come in next. The lady called the head cashier and they went ahead and had me do the shadowing part of training yesterday. I was so terrified to be at the register but everyone was really nice and helpful. Next weekend I am going to be on my own register, all by myself. I am so nervous but I know I can't get better unless I actually start doing it on my own.

Kids
There are certain times as a mom when you don't know if you should scold your kids or laugh and let them continue what they are doing. Here is an example:

Flip Out
Yesterday, Dave was asked me to help him teach Emily to do flips off of him. I wasn't feeling well and I didn't think it was worth the effort to try and teach Emily to do flips. I finally gave in after Dave begged me to help and Emily picked it up after the first try. Dave told me it really mean a lot to him to teach Emily this trick. He told me that when his dad came home from being over-seas, he remembered doing flips with him right when he got home. It was a very happy memory for him and he wanted to share that with Em.
I am Home Depot. I put customers first!
That was the "theme" of my weekend. I have officially passed orientation and I am on to training. Orientation was 24 hours worth of information crammed into 4 long and intense days. Dave called it "Home Depot Fun Camp" but I would call it "Faith gets a giant headache everyday and sits in a classroom for a really long time camp". It actually wasn't all that bad, but for some reason I did get a really bad headache every day. I met 20 new people who I will probably never see again but it was fun getting to know them and interacting with them. I learned a ton of information and the teacher had lots of fun stories to share.
Meanwhile back at home, Dave had a blast taking care of the girls. He said he was really nervous about it at first because he has not been alone with them for that long before. But both girls are in one piece and happy, so I know he did a great job. I came home last night with one of the headaches I was talking about and I couldn't do anything until it went away so Dave told me to go lay down. As I was laying down, I could hear Dave and the girls in the background playing and talking and I was filled with so much love and appreciation for Dave at that moment. He is such a great father and husband. Not to sound too mushy but there is something incredibly attractive about a man who goes out and works hard to make money to feed his family but then will come home and work just as hard to take care of them.
(Our computer is moving really slow this morning and posting pictures is taking way too long. I will try to get on later and post some so stay tuned!)
